Zuniga, originally from Berkeley, California, with a background in radio production, arrived to Washington in search of employment and found a flyer advertising an opportunity to work for a new Spanish language station in the Yakima Valley. Zuniga interviewed with Julio Cesar Guerrero and Daniel Roble who was hired as a member of the news team.
